Privacy is priority

We are proud of the fact that everyone who lives at Kensington Gardens enjoys the privacy of their own room. There are three room options available: basic room, semi-private room and private room.

We have a nurse call-bell system installed in every room (at the bedside and in the bathroom). Our rooms are wired for cable television and private telephone lines.

Accessibility

Kensington Gardens is committed to preventing, identifying and removing barriers for all individuals and providing excellent customer service. Wheelchairs, walkers and canes are available upon request at Reception for visitors.

Guide & service dogs or service animals are allowed in areas open to the public or when visiting in resident rooms, unless otherwise excluded by law and regulations.


Wheelchair access information:

  • All public entrances to Kensington Gardens are accessible.

  • Wheelchair-Accessible washrooms are located in the following areas:

    • Main floor lobby area (North&South building)

    • on each Resident Home Area

  • The Chapel is accessible by wheelchair


The cost to live at Kensington Gardens

The cost to live in long-term care is regulated by the Government of Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. This means that all long-term care homes across the province are standardized to cost the same amount for each resident. The cost to live in long-term care is shared by the government and individual residents.

Types of rooms available at Kensington Gardens:

Room Type:  Basic
Description:  Private room with a shared washroom

Room Type:  Semi-Private
Description:  Private room with a view, and a shared washroom

Room Type:  Private
Description:  Private room with a view, a private washroom, and upgraded room amenities


Fee-based services available at Kensington

At Kensington, the majority of our services are funded by the co-payment between the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the residents who live here. For a full list of our care services, please visit Living at Kensington

We offer additional services at Kensington Gardens for residents (or a representative) to opt-in to if they like:

  • Dentistry
  • Vision care and audiologist services
  • Chiropody (foot care)
  • Equipment such as wheelchairs, toilet aids and other self-help items
  • Television, cable and internet
  • Newspaper services
  • Hairdressing
  • Dry cleaning
