Coronavirus (COVID-19) information

Updated - July 23, 2020

COVID-19 has changed much of our daily lives – but Kensington’s commitment to keeping our community safe hasn’t. We are looking forward to seeing you again. If you have been to our campus before, things may look a little different when you return. We have made some changes to how we operate to keep you and our staff safe.

If you are new to Kensington, welcome! Please read the information on this page carefully to help you prepare for an upcoming visit.

The Eye Bank of Canada (Ontario Division) continues to support around-the-clock eye donation and emergency transplantation needs province-wide.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

We are currently accepting patients by appointment only. To allow for physical distancing in the waiting rooms and time for our team to disinfect between patients, we are operating at a reduced capacity.

As of July 21, there are no active COVID-19 outbreaks at Kensington Gardens.

Visiting the Gardens

On July 15, 2020, the Premier announced the next phase in loosening visiting restrictions in long-term care homes. Indoor visits begin on Wednesday July 22. This is an exciting new chapter in our journey, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Gardens!

As always, our residents’ and staff’s health and safety are our top priority. That is why we are taking a careful, phased approach to having visitors. Over time, we intend on increasing visiting capacity.
